Welcome to SLCD’s Philanthropy and Giving Pages!
Since 1985, SLCD’s mission has been to identify children with language disorders and developmental disabilities as early as possible to prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, and messages. We are one of a few specialized schools in the nation for children with language and communication disorders, our utilizing the Tiegerman Learning Method (TLM) to create an intensive program. The TLM is based on the belief that nothing is more important than the acquisition of both “words and sentences,” because you cannot effectively communicate without them. You can read more about this under our “Programs” Heading.
One of the most effective ways of supporting our mission is making a gift to the The SLCD Fund, which is comprised of annual unrestricted funds that afford our school the opportunity to reinforce the programs, projects and initiatives that directly affect all of our students and individuals each day. Your gift to the SLCD Fund plays an important role in supporting our school’s most prevalent needs. On the right navigation bar, you will see links for other giving opportunities, such as: 1) Providing a gift of restricted funds for capital projects or purchases; 2) Various naming opportunities throughout our schools and buildings; 3) Providing a lasting gift in your memory through planned giving. There are other ways you may consider donating to SLCD that are not listed, such as gifts of stocks, securities or real estate. If so, please feel free to call me at the number listed below.
We are grateful to all who make SLCD a philanthropic priority. Your generosity remains a vote of confidence in our efforts to provide extraordinary educational and community services for those with developmental disabilities. Please keep an eye out for some exciting and significant changes that will be coming to SLCD in the near future, along with the announcement of a major capital campaign.
