8^th Grade Art

Homework will not be assigned for this class. Students will have quizzes at the end of each chapter. Quiz dates will be posted on this page one week in advance. All material is reviewed in class and will be posted so that you may have the option to review with your child at home. Students will study the elements and principals of art, learn how to criticize and appreciate art as well as participate in studio art where they will be encouraged to work with a number of different mediums. Students will be able to showcase selected pieces for the annual JBS Art Gallery scheduled to take place in March.

7^th Grade Dance

Homework will not be assigned for this class. Students will be participating in a physically active dance studio program that provides an introduction to ballet, jazz, African, musical theater and hip hop. Students will be working on alignment, direction, coordination, spatial awareness, and rhythm in each of these disciplines. Individual and group work activities will be utilized each day in class. Students will have an opportunity to perform on stage during various concerts and events at Woodside.
